Masters 40+ Steal the Spotlight in the Battle of Portugal

The spotlight in bodybuilding was firmly on Carcavelos, Portugal last weekend, where the Masters 40+ athletes delivered a high-caliber showdown.

The Women’s Bodybuilding division set the tone early. The Spanish legend Virginia Sanchez once again proved why she remains one of the best bodybuilder in the world competing on all the most prestigious stages in Europe and in American. She brought her trademark size paired with sharp conditioning, reinforcing her status as one of the most consistent champions in the category.

In Women’s Physique, the amazing Carol Alves of Brazil continued her unstoppable momentum. After a razor-close second place in Romania just two weeks ago, she returned to Portugal and dominated the Masters division. A multi-time Olympia qualifier, Carol has now secured her position for the 2027 Masters Olympia, further cementing her legacy.

Special mention goes to Spanish new talent Julia Cabarcos, who earned second place in WPD on her pro debut, that is absolutely increduble! Her structure and genetics are undeniable, and she made an immediate impact with the judges and fans.

Figure saw a strong Italian takeover, claiming both first and second place. Grazia Diliso captured the win with an exceptional level of conditioning. She entered the stage under the guidance of coach Enzo Jossa, well-known for coaching three-time Olympian Nadia Capotosto.
Rugiada Cillo followed in second place; not widely known before this event, she definitely impressed with a performance that clearly put her on the map!
